“Jugging” is on the rise

Californians now have to worry about “Jugging,” thanks to Democrats’ new “social justice” programs.

Never heard of “jugging”? It’s a crime where a suspect profiles a customer at a bank or high-end store or restaurant, follows them, and steals their money or valuables.

Thanks to a radical set-criminals-free agenda by our state’s Democratic Party under the guise of “social justice,” criminals everywhere are re-weighing the risk-reward of committing these types of crimes increasingly in favor of committing crime.

In other words, far-left Democrats are knowingly and intentionally putting your family’s safety increasingly at risk because they care more about a criminal’s freedom than they do about your family’s freedom from violence, theft, and vandalism.

If you think jugging doesn’t happen in our district, here are some recent examples:

• Morning armed robbery of an older man and his caretaker in his driveway in Alamo, pursuit to Lafayette/Orinda

• Armed robbery of man’s Rolex at Trader Joe's in Danville

• Danville resident in shootout against several armed individuals who were trying to rob four people after just parking their car

• An Alamo couple robbed at gunpoint after being followed to their friends home in Walnut Creek after dinner in San Ramon

• Alamo woman robbed of jewelry at gunpoint in her driveway after being followed home by car of armed men

Why are criminals becoming so brazen and targeting innocent, hard-working people in our district in their own driveways, restaurants, and grocery stores? Because legislators like my opponent, Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, support cashless bail and other “social justice” programs that immediately put violent criminals back on the street and deal them minimal consequences.

I talk to people every week who tell me they have changed their habits and behaviors and are more alert of their surroundings at all times, even at home.

People in our communities are spending their hard-earned money on new security systems, better security systems, more cameras, and more sensors. They are having to take their personal safety into their own hands because our lawmakers are shaking hands with and taking checks from people and groups with radical agendas.

Whether you identify as a Democrat, a Republican, or an independent, we all agree the most important job of our legislators is to keep us safe.

This is not about politics, it is about the safety of the ones we love.

When our legislators stop caring about the safety of the people they represent, it is time to vote them out and bring moderates back in to restore balance, restore our right to feel safe, and restore California.
